What a crazy week haha. I am in the Zone\city of Assin Foso and called to serve in the Akrofoum area! My companion is Elder Antwi from Ghana. Assin Foso is a small but nice city. You can find pretty much anything you need. When I say nice it is all very relative baha, but it is swell. Akrofoum on the other hand is the bush of the bush. We travel 30\45 min each day to the area. On my first day we went into Akrofoum it is like national geo. I am not kidding, but we start walking into what feels like a movie. Right when we entered the village about 8 or ten little children ran up to me yelling obroni obroni! and holding on to my hands as we walked. I started to tear up and my thoughts went to the Savior. It was a beautiful experience. I should mention nobody speaks English in Akrofoum... haha it is all Twi, man that had been rough! My companion Elder Antwi is very fluent because he is from here so he has to teach and translate and then I bear my testimony. I was feeling very discouraged at first, but I am learning Twi kakrankra or "small small" but I should speak very well before I leave this area. The first few days I thought I got a bad area and companion. I was ungrateful and sad. Luckily, and so so gratefully, we stay in the apartment with the zone leaders Elder Wright and Elder Azuma. Elder Wright is from California and is a blessing from the Lord. He goes home in 6 months. He has helped me so much with buying food, and realizing my area is very good! He wants to get into doTERRA when he gets back as well. He said I brought all the same stuff as him, haha, but I can tell we will be friends forever. He is awesome. My companion Elder Antwi is a good man. He has been out 6ish months so he is still learning a lot as well. This was frustrating to me, but we are learning together and I am grateful for him.
I saw my first Harry Potter spider! It was the scariest thing ever. You have no idea. They are the size of crabs and are lighting fast haha. You all would freak out. I also saw a medium size snail about the size of my hand! It was crazy. Fixed my first tie all by myself too, sewing aint so bad! The police here all carry fake ak47 its hilarious, with no ammo or anything. Oh, also in Akrofoum and many other places, breast feeding in public and especially during lessons with missionaries is totally normal lol. It was pretty distracting at first, I wont lie, but I just realized hey that's what they are used for and make good eye contact! I also couldn't find my rain jacket! I had it in the MTC, but now i can't find it. It rains pretty good so I called the MTC and mission home so hopefully they find it. If not, I might need another one! Love you guys so much, there is so much I can't even say because it would be a book!
