"God is Your Loving Heavenly Father" the 3 is a twi alphabet letter that sounds like e in met and the c is like oor. That spelling isn't correct, but it's somewhat close, haha. Like a mix between how it sounds and how it's supposed to be spelled lol.
So we were walking and I felt the spirit tell me to stop and go have a Gospel Conversation with this man sitting down. He lives right behind our chapel and turns out he has really wanted to come to church, but he can't because there is something wrong with his hip/leg and he has no money for hospital. His name is Samuel Amankwa and he has a tattoo that Says KING KONG across his chest. I was confused because he is the nicest guy and very humble and not resembling king kong at all. We were talking to our ward mission leader, Kobi, and he said he used to be a thief in Accra and came to Akrofuom to hide out. (Isn't the first guy I've met who has done that, lol. It's a good hideout.) But when he came some years ago everyone was very scared of him, He said he was the strongest man in the village and thus the name King Kong. Now he can't walk and is very skinny... He truly has been humbled that much I can say, and he has a strong testimony already what we teach is true.
Bro Daniel, aka crazy guy from Montreal. He Went to live in Montreal, Canada when he was a young man. He came back because he got into trouble with drugs and the wrong people. We stopped by his shop to GC him when first we noticed he was typing on a computer that wasn't plugged in and during our lesson he spoke for 30 min straight about Canada. We found out later the drugs affected his mind:( He's a super nice guy and we continue to be his friend because he is very lonely, but he doesn't seem to really accept our message or be progressing.
Sis Jessica came to church! That was sweet! I believe she was the first lesson I had on mission, but she never let us come again or came to church. This week though she came! Every time we saw her we would stop and greet her with a smile and an invitation to meet or come to church. We thought she was a lost cause, but the Lord has his ways and I believe all those little encounters made her trust us and thus feel comfortable to come to church.
A lot of people have fears of coming to church because there is a strange rumor going around that we take people's body parts when they die, and the fact that we don't use drums or dance is a turn off, haha.
One guy though Nana Set starting coming because the other churches were too irreverent! ha. Man he is progressing very well and we plan to baptize him on the 20 of this month. He comes early morning to clean the chapel with a member, he bore his testimony during testimony meeting and he began to fellowship Sis Jessica when he saw she was a new person at church! This guy, I mean, I have no words. I'm so excited as well because he is some what educated (not in English unfortunately lol) and he cares about the work which is exactly the kind of people the Akrofruom branch needs to progress and grow!
This week we went to farm again. This time to harvest some Coco. I still have all 5 fingers which is surprising, lol. Only knicked my self small;) I chewed on some root called Altunyankwah found in the bush to help my stomach. Totally worked, freaking love all natural stuff! Check out the song Telemon by Gasmille. They play it all the time here and it's very catchy. Someone told me it mentions the name of a conflicting organization some where in the Middle East (I don't want the NSA reading my emails lol, plus idk how to spell the group in it, soooo idk). It's a funny song is what my companion told me.
The mission is very sweet. It has it's ups and it's downs, but I am learning a lot. I love you all. Thank you so much for your prayers and support. It helps a lot. Enjoy your week and remember Y3ja cwocsor whya papa O doien:)
