My Name Is Yaw Asanka

August 24, 2015

Sister Ophilia and her kids.

The bowl I'm holding is called Asanka. My name in Ghana is Yaw Asanka. The yaw means I was born on a Thursday and Asanka is that bowl. It is used to grind pepay which is a spicy pepper they put in almost everything. It's because I love all their food. I haven't eaten 1 thing I don't like except cold kenkai and fish, blah. But all the Ghanaians love my name:) Sis Ophilia and Auntie Penny also call me Yaw Boakye yia dom, which is their surname because they consider me part of the family:) Fun fact ky is pronounced ch.
